Liberal, Libertario, Libertino

Muita gente reclamou do final de "Os Fracos Não Têm Vez", inclusive até seres pensantes como o Nemo. Sinceramente, eu não sei bem o que esse povo estava esperando. O final desse filme é um dos mais perfeitos desde que inventaram as artes narrativas. Como toda grande obra de arte, sua genialidade é profundamente instável e se mantém às custas de uma enorme tensão. Não consigo imaginar nenhum detalhe que poderia ser modificado sem derrubar tudo.

Por isso, quando me dizem que o final do filme é uma merda, eu pergunto logo: "então, o que você mudaria?" A resposta abaixo, por enquanto, é a melhor:

This movie's ending was too original. I'd have Chigurh die in a mexican standoff with Llewelyn while the cop comes just in time to see the aftermath. Upon seeing what happens, he gives a trite speech about how he'll let Llewelyn go just this once because he likes him. The film would end with Llewelyn and his wife riding off into the sunset in a newly purchased car. Llewelyn would make a lame joke like "If fate is gonna kill me, it should get a better haircut first." It is also revealed that Carla is pregnant with a baby girl which they decide to name "Hope." Just before the camera fades out, the sherriff speaks in an unnecessary voice-over, reinforcing the moral of the story. The last line of this voice-over would be "And what I learned from Llewelyn is that a man is not a slave to his destiny. People have a choice; it is up to them to make a difference in their lives. Even you. In the back row of the theater." Fade out. The credits begin to roll, starting with "Directed by Michael Bay."

Pensei em colocar um aviso tipo "contém spoilers" mas alguém que não imagine que um post chamado "O Final de "Os Fracos Não Têm Vez"" vai revelar o fim do filme merece mesmo perder a surpresa.
